A house with a history
A love letter
to a village
Steve and Julianne first came to Panicale in the 1990s. They came back the following year. And the year after that. The little children they used to watch chasing each other around the piazza now have children of their own.
That is what Panicale does to people.
It is not simply that the village is beautiful, though it is. It is the people. The barista who has your order ready before you reach the counter. The neighbours who stop to talk. The rhythms of daily life that have changed little in centuries and feel, somehow, like exactly what was missing.
Casa Monte was designed for people who understand this kind of place. For those who want to shop at the weekly market, fill the kitchen with what is in season, and cook something unhurried for the people they came with. For those who open a good bottle in the afternoon and feel no need to justify it.
It is also a house built for exploring. Umbria and Tuscany unfold in every direction. Orvieto, Assisi, Cortona, Siena, the shimmering shores of Lake Trasimeno are all within easy reach for a day's adventure. The house is easy to leave in the morning and deeply comfortable to return to in the evening.
However you choose to use it, as a kitchen and a table, a launchpad for adventure, or simply a place to finally slow down, Casa Monte is a home that has been loved for a long time. That, more than anything, is what you will feel when you arrive.
